If you live anywhere near Balsall Heath and the B12 district of Birmingham, you might be able to find yourself a new career in the New Year by popping down to the New Year Jobs Fair hosted by St Paul’s Community Development Trust in conjunction with West Midlands Police and Jobcentre Plus.
The jobs fair event will be held at St Paul’s Community Development Trust (Balsall Heath Initiative Centre, Clifton Road, Balsall Heath, Birmingham, B12 8NJ) – between the hours of 11am & 3pm on Monday 17th January 2011, featuring recruiters and jobseeker advisers from local organisations including Monarch Recruitment, Office Team, West Midlands Creative Alliance, Midlands Community and Education Training, the Amina Trust, Balsall Heath Children’s Centre, West Midlands Police and Jobcentre Plus.
This event is mainly targeting unemployed young people (aged 18+) in Balsall Heath and surrounding areas of Birmingham, but there will also be plenty of information at the event for anyone thinking of switching jobs…
Jobcentre Plus will be on hand to talk about the hundreds of vacancies they have at the moment, there will be information on apprenticeships and how this relates to employment, and there will be support workshops throughout the day courtesy of the local Way Ahead Project. Wayahead Manager and Jobs Fair coordinator Sarah Gallagher said:
It being a new year many will feel the need for a fresh start. That is why I am confident that whether it is those who come with an idea of what they want or those who have lost direction everyone will leave the day newly invigorated for the road ahead.
