Silver Surfers’ Day 2012 introduces the Elderly to the Internet around the UK

Spring Online with Silver Surfers Day 2012 is a 4-day campaign (23rd to 27th April 2012) designed to introduce older people to computers and the internet.

Spring Online decided to have a 4-day special campaign on their 10th anniversary last year and now seem to have decided to stick with 4 days each year!

Spring Online with Silver Surfers Day is an annual-event-based internet promotion project by Digital Unite – a digital skills hub sponsored by and partnered up with a dozen or so government departments and internet comms initiatives.

At a national level we work alongside Government departments such as the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), Cabinet Office, Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG) and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) to help shape and steer the digital inclusion agenda.

We also work with partners such as the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE), Age UK, UK online centres, Race Online 2012 and the BBC to broaden digital inclusion as far and as wide as possible.
