Soroptomist International Make “Fun in the Park” @ Tudor Grange

Fun in the Park organised by Soroptomist International of Solihull last weekend at Tudor Grange Park was rated a big success with more than 2000 people coming to enjoy the day – even the sun shone!

There was an Olympic style opening by the Mayor of Solihull, flanked by Olympic Torchbearers; an epic performance by 30 members of Cranmore Infants’ Choir; Stuart Jones and his band performed throughout the day with Mark Daniels from Pro Ents providing stage/PA announcements and Radio Lollipop broadcasting live.

The large crowds saw demonstrations from Solihull Fire Fighters, the Navy and a local Martial Arts group plus more acts from Learning Curves, Molly Wilson, Stagecoach, Encore Academy, Giocoso, Line dancing, PressuriZe and Dorridge Music School. Plus a display of Classic Cars, a Dog Show and Solihull’s very first Furry Tombola (see photo).

A Soroptomist spokesperson said:

“We were delighted to see so many happy, smiling people of all ages enjoying Fun in the Park on Saturday. Not only was great fun had by all but more than £4500 was raised to be split between three local charities: the Marie Curie Big Build Appeal to help build and equip a new local hospice for the West Midlands, Make a Better Life Trust and Newland Bishops Farm.”
