North Birmingham Inter-Faith Storytelling Evening, 5th Oct 2012 @ Faizul Quran Jamia Mosque
The Lozells Project – a Christian initiative in North West Birmingham – is bringing together various faith groups from around the North Birmingham area to gather at Faizul Quran Jamia Mosque (also known as Lozells Central Mosque, at 213 Lozells Road, B19 1RJ) for an evening of storytelling based on holy scripture from various faiths.
This interfaith storytelling evening is organised by the ‘Faith in Lozells’ group in partnership with various faith leaders in North Birmingham and the Lozells Project.
Date: Friday 5th October 2012
Time: 7.00 – 8.30pm including time for refreshments
Venue: Faizul Quran Jamia Mosque, 213-217 Lozells Road, Birmingham, B19 1RJ
Cost: This is a free event for all faith groups to attend
Please come prepared to share an encouraging story from your personal spiritual journey or your Holy Scriptures for 5 minutes. It could be in the form of a thanksgiving for an answered prayer or blessings you have received from God’s loving hands. You might want to share a short story from your Holy Books or a spiritual leader who has inspired you. Please encourage your young people to attend and share a short story. Please share freely with an open heart while respecting the faith of others present on the evening. Do feel free to invite others to this event. There is no obligation to tell a story. You can just enjoy listening and meeting friends from other faiths.
If you’re interested in attending this event, feel free to listen to stories with an open heart in respect of the faith of others present on the evening. Men and women should cover their arms, legs and remove their shoes in the Mosque, and women should also cover the hair on their heads with some kind of headscarf in respect of the etiquete of the Mosque hosting this event.
