Children’s Hospital schedules Great Birmingham Run and Winter Ball

Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charities (BCH), an independent registered charity that raises funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital has announced events to raise funds for Children’s Cancer Centre Appeal.

Birmingham Children’s Hospital provides paediatric care and services to 250,000 children every year across the country. All charity goes a long way whether it helps fund crayons in the waiting room or a sophisticated lifesaving machine.

Their mission is simply: “To make things better for the children at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, their families and the staff who treat them by providing additional facilities, equipment, and research by creating a caring environment for all who use the Hospital.”

Great Birmingham Run 2013

BCH will be holding a marathon in Birmingham on 20th October 2013. Last year the hospital celebrated 150 years of excellence and was able to recruit 1,050 runners for its 2012 marathon.

After registration for the run, BCH will also provide support and advice for fundraising. They will provide materials such as collecting tins, T-shirts, balloons, banners, sponsorship forms and much more.

Advice about marketing materials such as logos, posters, press releases and general advice for raffle licenses, permits and any health and safety concerns will also be provided.

If you are interested in registering please visit the Great Birmingham Run website.

Winter Ball 2013

An unforgettable Winter Ball, sponsored by Deutsche Bank, is scheduled for the 16th of November 2013 and will be held at the Great Hall of the University of Birmingham.

The event will be hosted by award winning impressionist, Alistair McGowan. The night will include live performances from the stars of West End and Broadway, a charity auction, gourmet three course dinner and live music. Tickets are available for individuals for £85 or £800 for tables of ten.

Art Gallery

For those who are inclined to stay at home, help can also be provided by being the proud owner of an original piece of art by the patients of BCH.

As part of the 150th birthday celebrations, children were asked to paint ideas that could make their hospital brilliant. All proceedings from the £150 donation for a painting will go directly to BCH. The canvases can be viewed in cafés and businesses around Birmingham City Centre.
