easyGym backs Cure Leukaemia for Great Birmingham Run 2014

Birmingham Based charity Cure Leukaemia announce the leading national gym chain easyGym Kings Heath as an official partner for the BUPA Great Birmingham Run 2014.

Cure Leukaemia is delighted to announce easyGym Kings Heath as a partner for this year’s run. The leading national gym chain has new sites opening all over the country including one due to open its doors on Corporation Street in Birmingham in July. easyGym Kings Heath has grown from strength to strength since opening in November 2012 and both staff and members alike will play an integral part in helping Cure Leukaemia achieve its goal of 1000 runners pounding the streets of the Second City in October.

easyGym will provide training plans for runners of all standards, nutritional guides, email support and two complimentary memberships to worthy recipients. Current easyGym members will have access to all of these benefits but also additional face-to-face support and advice from the gym’s personal trainers and instructors.

Cure Leukaemia had a record breaking £125,000 raised by its 455 runners in the 2013 BUPA Great Birmingham Run and the Birmingham-based blood cancer charity want to double this in 2014 to break even more records. If successful, the £250,000 raised would be worth £2.5 million in potentially life-saving drugs for leukaemia patients across the region.

Phillip James the manager of easyGym Kings Heath said:

It’s a great privilege to help support Cure Leukaemia in this year’s BUPA Great Birmingham Run. easyGym has a fantastic opportunity to reach out and encourage as many of our members to take part and raise as much money as possible. Cure Leukaemia does incredible work in Birmingham and we are looking forward to being a part of it!

James McLaughlin the Chief Executive of Cure Leukaemia said:

To have the support of such a well known and respected company in easyGym is tremendous news for Cure Leukaemia. They will be instrumental in helping the charity reach out to new runners and reach our target of 1000 people taking part on October 19th. I’m sure with the enthusiasm of Phil and his team ‘Team Cure Leukaemia’ will raise a fantastic amount of money for the charity.
