Help Offered For Charities

Help Offered For Charities

Charities typically depend on the good support of generous people in order to successfully do the good work that they do on a daily basis.

If you have something to offer to local charities and third-sector organisations in and around Birmingham, let them know! Post the details here!

  1. Studio B offers free unlimited internet marketing consultancy (primarily search engine optimisation (SEO) advice and general creative strategic marketing input where required) for Birmingham charities in 2011.

If you’re interested in this service, email dan@birminghampr.co.uk with a brief outline of your requirements.

  2. Offering the support of 15-17 year olds to volunteer for local charities.

I am Programme Manager for The Challenge Network, a local youth and community charity. The Challenge is a Youth and Community programme for young people founded on the belief that our community is strongest when people from different backgrounds come together. Our programme challenges young people by giving them opportunities to serve and understand their community.

If you have any projects that teams of 12 or 60 16 year olds could help you with for 1 day, or would like to recruit young volunteers in ongoing positions then please get in touch with me: Laura Bassinder on laura.bassinder@the-challenge.org.

Projects can be anything that is beneficial for you and achievable for our young people. Previous projects have included practical decorating projects, litter picks, hosting community tea parties and running campaigns.

  3. Do you know of a charity or community group in need of funds? Or indeed any other help?

I’m a fundraiser/event organiser looking to work with organisations who really need help! Those that perhaps don’t have employed staff or full time fundraisers, or those that have had grants slashed.
Happy to work with anyone that needs me but particularly the young, vulnerable and homeless who need help getting back on track.
    Email me directly on help@rickiejosen.co.uk

  4. Local charities required to pilot rental-free phone service.

We are a small but socially-aware Midlands-based telecoms provider and as part of our commitment to supporting the local community we are going to be offering our phone services to UK charities completely rental free.

In order to raise awareness of our initiative, we are looking for a handful of local (Midlands-based) registered charities to pilot the scheme. We are looking to include case studies in our media promotions so an opportunity exists to raise local awareness of your organisation at our expense.

For more information or to apply, please visit http://www.sipcentric.com/about/for-charities – we look forward to hearing from you.

  8. Hello everyone

On Saturday 19th May 2012 we are holding a Community Consultation and Games event at Walkers Heath Park in South Birmingham Kings Norton/Brandwood(B14/B38). This park has been largely neglected for decades and 5 months ago, we set up the Friends of Walkers Heath Park to work against this. We aim to improve facilities, conservation and wildlife and hold events. In short, we want to make it a thriving community resource again. We are looking for volunteers to make the day happen…we have a planning meeting Wednesday 4th April 2012 at Greaves Hall, Greaves Square off Hillmeads Road, off Walkers Heath Road at 7.30pm (all welcome). It is 6 weeks until the event. The consultation will form the backbone of further funding bids to put in place the things that people want. If you have any ideas for…the day, extra fundraising for freebies, prizes etc. or want to volunteer email leanne@friendsofthepark.co.uk or call 07814394149. Thanks Leanne (Secretary)

  9. We are running an event in Birmingham at The Nishkam Centre, 6 Soho Road, Handsworth, Birmingham, B21 9BH on 17th July 2012 from 2pm to 4pm. This is to promote the £10 million Investment and Contract Readiness Fund from Social Investment Business. This is a very influential fund because it is aimed at ambitious and high growth third sector organisations by funding the support costs in overcoming problems in raising finance and/or winning public sector contracts, this may be organisational structure, business planning, business support etc. You need to be looking to raise investment of at least £500,000 to develop services and/or win contracts of at least £1 million. This event is aimed primarily to promote this fund but also how to apply, what investors are looking for and the finance available to social enterprises. Booking is available online at http://icrfevent-eorg.eventbrite.com/, email cmcandrew@advantage-ba.com or call us on 0121 212 6580.
